HEANOR AND LOSCOE TOWN COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
LOCAL COUNCILLORS CALL PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS PLANS FOR FORMER GRAMMAR SCHOOL SITE
Members of Heanor and Loscoe Town Council have called a public meeting to be held at the Wilmot Street Centre on 30th October, 6pm-7.30pm, to discuss the three planning applications submitted to develop the former Heanor Grammar School site. A planning officer will be in attendance for the first hour to answer questions about the process. Hopefully, members of the Heanor Grammar School Action Group will be available from 7pm to answer questions and discuss what action the local community might take.
Town Council Leader and Borough Councillor for Heanor West, Cllr Paul Jones, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for our community to ensure the Borough Council is in no doubt about how they feel about the proposals. It will also enable the Town Council and Borough Councillors to hear the concerns and to reflect them in our comments to the Borough Council. Both I and my Borough Council colleague, Cllr Teresa Curran, have requested that all three applications go before the Planning Board to ensure members of the public are able to voice their concerns directly to members of the Planning Board. I urge the public to take this opportunity find out more and to raise their concerns.”
